Top most anticipated movies in 2008

20 Most Anticipated Movies Of The Next Year

I came across a VERY surprising list on Yahoo News (Yahoo changed their list to read “next year” instead of 2008)today that was basically the results of a study done of what movie goers most anticipated films of 2008 are. The #1 film really isn’t surprising at all… Indiana Jones 4. That’s a no brainer. #2 wasn’t all that surprising either, Batman. But a number of them really shocked me.

Before I go any further, here’s the list as it broke down:

1. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Obvious)

2. The Dark Knight (Batman Begins 2) (Again, obvious)

3. National Treasure: Book of Secrets (WHAT!?!?! Really?!?! I’m kinda, mildly looking forward to this too… but #3?!?! More than Get Smart? More than Iron Man? More than Narnia?)

4. American Gangster (Glad to see this rank so high, but still a shock. I thought most people still hadn’t really heard of it yet)

5. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (Yeah, right where I thought it would be)

6. Iron Man (Higher than I thought… but not by much)

7. I Am Legend (Will Smith is bankable, no surprise)

8. Get Smart (Really thought this would be higher. Carrell is hot, Get Smart is a beloved title… #8 is good, just thought it would be up there more)

9. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (There are people looking forward to this?)

10. Charlie Wilson’s War (A Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts real life political thriller… you knew it would be on here)

11. Hancock (Again, Smith is bankable… could be fun… sounds a little like a “Captain Amazing” movie)

12. Beowulf (No thank you)

13. His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass (Thought it would be higher)

14. Mamma Mia! (Uggg… no thanks)

15. The Incredible Hulk (Trust me… just trust me… I read the script this week… this movie will ROCK, and when trailer start coming out for this bad boy people will be buzzing)

16. Speed Racer (Don’t care)

17. Step Brothers (Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly together again… but I thought no one heard of it yet)

18. Bee Movie (I’m very surprised this came in this low. The teaser commercials have been cute, it’s the return of Jerry Seinfeld… sort of… why is this movie not getting more love?)

19. Mr. Magnorium’s Wonder Emporium (Meh)

20. Starship Dave (great Odin’s beard… kill it… kill it now)

So there you have it. My personal biggest shock on that list is National Treasure 2 being so damn high on the list. That really caught me off guard. So how about YOU? How would you order these on your anticipation list? What other films coming in 2008 would you include, and which would you bump off to make room for it?

Top 10 Most Surprising Films of last year

Top 10 Most Surprising Films(2007)

You know that awesome feeling you get when you put on a jacket or a pair of pants you haven’t worn in a while… then you go out and at some point you stick your hands in the pockets and to your surprise you discover there’s a $20 bill in there that you totally forgot or didn’t know about? That’s the same kind of feeling I get whenever I go see a film that I don’t really think will be any good… but then ends up being much better than I thought it would be.

So in this season of year end lists (We’re still going to do Most Disappointing, and Most Overrated lists this week), I thought we’d share our top ten surprising films of the year.

HOW THIS LIST WORKS
The #1 film on this list is not necessarily the “best” film on the list… just the one that has the biggest gap between how bad I thought it would be, and how good it ended up being. So #5 might be the best film on the list… but if it was only 27% better than I thought it would be, then the film that wasn’t as good, but was 75% better than I thought it would be would rank higher. Got it?

THE MOST SURPRISING FILMS OF 2007

1) MR. BROOKS
2 words ladies and gentlemen.. Kevin… Costner. Really, that name sends negative connotations rushing through your head, but this brilliant film ended up very nearly making my top 10 films of the year list. The scenes between Costner and William Hurt were some of the most compelling character interactions on screen this year. Awesome movie, and easily my biggest surprise of 2007.

2) STARDUST
The only reason this film isn’t #1 is because the presence of Michelle Pheiffer, Rpbert De Nero and Claire Danes gave me some hope even though it was one of the worst marketing campaigns of all time. This film did end up on my Top 10 Films of the year list.

3) NEXT
i thought this would be worse than garbage, but I actually ended up mildly enjoying this little flick. The premies was very good, Cage was actually very funny in it and oddly enough I loved the ending.

4) TMNT
Wow, I preached for about 4 months about how awful this movie was going to be. I warned everyone to have no hope for it at all. However, while TMNT certainly didn’t end up as a classic… I had fun with it and had to eat my words to a lot of people.

5) REIGN OVER ME
Little throw away film that I thought MIGHT have some potential… but WOW this movie ended up being fantastic. Came very close to cracking my top 10 list, but it certainly made the top 15. I think Adam Sandlers best performance of his career, and yes that includes Punch Drunk.

6) WAITRESS
Kerri Russell’s career had been pretty much dead since she cut her hair, so this little indy film didn’t look like it had much potential… and to be honest the only reason I went to see it was because Fox invited me to a screening and I really wanted to see the Fox Lot. Once again, ended up in my top 15 and almost on the top 10. Russell is back, Fillion is great as always and the story is just pure sweet as pie. Loved this movie.

7) LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD
I knew the film had some potential, but I don’t think anyone thought it would end up quite as good as it was. Many thought that being rated PG13 instead of R would ruin the film… it didn’t

8) HAIRSPRAY
A bad looking musical ends up being remarkably charming

9) DISTURBIA
We all knew this “Shia” kid was going to be in Transformers, but most of us had no idea if this kid could actually act (who knew… now it looks as if he’s the next Tom Hanks)

10) OCEAN’S THIRTEEN
Never count out a cast like this or a director like this… so I did have some expectation for Ocean’s Thirteen… but with the disapointment of Ocean’s Twelve those expectations weren’t very high. Glad to say this one built on all that was good about the first one instead of all that was bad about the second one.

Top ten Hottest Crazy-Eyed Actresses in 2008

The top ten hottest actress look so cute and beautiful that anyone enjoy a lot. You are most welcome to entertain these crazy-eyed actress.

While watching a Rodney Dangerfield movie (Easy Money, if you must know), I came to wonder how many actresses are running around Hollywood with screwy eyes? How many would I sleep with? So of course I set upon figuring it out and I’ve ranked them on their “do-ability”.
Criteria: She has to be have appeared in a movie (I’d say acted but so many of them aren’t exactly masters of the craft); have some sort of eye ailment (lazy eyes, uneven eyes, freaky eyes, etc.); 18 or older — no cradle robbing here.

10
Melissa Joan Hart

She’s got that wickedly tired right eye but a great body. Who actually watched Sabrina the Teenage Witch for the acting? I know I didn’t.

9
Kirsten Dunst

There’s just something going for her. She’s skinny as hell and her right eye is a bit messy, but she’s got the special ‘it’ factor. Also, if she’s good enough for Spider-Man, she’s good enough for me.

8
Christina Ricci

She’s got herself a pair of bug eyes (right one can get a bit droopy at times too). Yet, after Black Snake Moan put her on the map, who doesn’t want to chain her to a radiator? I certainly do.

7
Jillian Barberie

Yeah, she’s annoying as all hell, but that body has held steady for years. I wouldn’t pay any attention to her right eye or to the fact that it may give me nightmares.

6
Paris Hilton
Both of her eyes are a bit screwy, but the left one has got some real issues. I’d do her just to say I screwed an heiress. By the way, I’d tape it too.

5
Eliza Dushku

After seeing Bring It On and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back so many years ago, she has a place reserved in my heart (and bed). So does her slightly weaker left eye.

4
Kari Wuhrer

I used to watch that stupid MTV show Remote Control just to catch a glimpse of her. Never paid much attention to the fact that her right eye was a bit skewed and even though it appears to be getting worse, it wouldn’t stop me from pouncing on her.

3
Lucy Liu

Hottest Chinese chick in Hollywood. Her left eye is a bit narrower than the right but that wouldn’t stop me for a second . . . or for 5 minutes.

2
Teri Hatcher

Her right eye has gotten a bit droopy as she’s aged. All women should hope to look as good as Teri does when they start piling on the years. She’s the best Desperate Housewife on the block.

1
Jessica Alba

I know, you don’t want to believe it but her right eye is ever so slightly more squinty than her left. Doesn’t matter though, she is still beyond hot and I would drop anything for 18 minutes of alone time with her.

Top 10 Movies of last year

The top 10 movies in last year are superb business performanece all over the world. These list are newly updated in the web. I think you will enjoy these movies and get huge recreation. Here you also find some important link for your enjoyment.

1. Juno

There's not a single moment in Juno that played false or made me feel like I was just watching a film. Smart writing, a terrific cast, and a killer soundtrack - this little beauty has it all. And watch out for Ellen Page and Michael Cera. These two should have huge careers.

2. No Country for Old Men

The Coen Brothers remained faithful to the tone of Cormac McCarthy's bestselling novel, and even incorporated some scenes word-for-word. The resulting big screen adaptation of No Country for Old Men is no less impressive than McCarthy's book. Plus, Javier Bardem sports the most bizarre hairdo of the year and still manages to carve a permanent place for himself in the world of actors who've played killers.

3. Atonement

For the most part I'm not a fan of period pieces, and I'm one of the few critics who apparently wasn't blown away by Atonement director Joe Wright and actress Keira Knightley's first collaboration - Pride and Prejudice. But Atonement is so lush, so beautiful, and the story is just incredibly compelling, that it grabbed me and kept me enthralled from the first frame through the final credits.

4. 3:10 to Yuma

Russell Crowe or Christian Bale? Take your pick, it doesn't really matter which one you prefer in 3:10 to Yuma. Both of these actors deserve special recognition for what they accomplished in this Western which reinvigorated the fading genre. A film so good you need to see it at least twice to truly appreciate what director James Mangold has pulled off with this down-and-dirty drama.

5. The Lookout

I really believe that had The Lookout hit theaters in October, November or December rather than in March, this overlooked gem would have made a lot more Top 10 lists. Way back in March I put The Lookout on my Top 10 list and it never left. It may have moved down a few spots over the months, but it's always remained firmly planted in my mind as one of the year's best.

6. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

This could quite possibly be the second best film from the team of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. Only Ed Wood really beats it, and that's not by much. Sure, Depp's not a singer - and neither is his co-star Helena Bonham Carter - but their vocal stylings fit the twisted lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. It's bloody and disgustingly funny, and just gorgeous to look at.

7. Across the Universe

Across the Universe is one of those movies you either really love or really hate. I fall into the 'really love' group with this magical, musical trippy film. Loaded with Beatles songs and pop culture references, Across the Universe is the one movie I wanted to see again as soon as it ended. This one's going to be a must-own on DVD.

8. Into the Wild

Based on a true story and written/directed by Sean Penn, Into the Wild features a breakthrough performance by Emile Hirsch and outstanding turns by a batch of supporting players. Hirsch, who'll next be seen in the Wachowski Brothers' Speed Racer, tackles the very physically and mentally challenging role of a college grad who gave up his cushy life to live off the grid. Into the Wild is a tough film to watch due to the eventual outcome of the story, but one worth checking out for some breathtaking cinematography and terrific performances.

9. Lars and the Real Girl

Ryan Gosling earned an Academy Award nomination for his role in the gritty drama Half Nelson and is generating almost as much attention with Lars and the Real Girl. Gosling plays a guy who falls in love with a doll - a real doll - in one of the most unique and interesting love stories in decades.

10. Knocked Up

Some would argue that it's Superbad but to me Knocked Up was the funniest movie of 2007. Too bad comedies don't generate the same amount of awards attention as 'serious' films. And why is that? I've never, ever understood that reasoning. It's much more difficult to make an audience laugh, so you'd think decent comedies would stand a chance. And kudos to all involved in Knocked Up for going for it and embracing the hard R rating.

Top 10 Hollywood Actress, latest rating.

These are the top earning actress in Hollywood film industry. This top 10 are so popular that every movie hits box office not only in USA but also all over the world.

1. Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman, makes $16 mil-$17 mil. What she should be earning: -$1 mil. That's right, I'm saying that Nicole should be paying film companies to hire her, not the other way around. That's because she's poison at the box office, the female equivalent of Sean Penn. Women dislike her, men don't think she's sexy, and those Chanel ads induce nausea. My guess is Nicole's rate dates back to Sony Pictures overpaying her for that bomb Bewitched. Since then, she's been doing smaller films, but is signing for studio projects right now. Note to majors: save your $$$ and hire Reese or Angelina.

2. Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon, $15 mil. What she should be earning: $25 mil. Reese can do no wrong. Women love her, men love her, the camera loves her. And she's smart: when she was looking for a new agency, she lamented not owning her Legally Blonde character because it'll be Broadway bound. Which doesn't mean all her films are great, but she's always great in them. She opens a movie. 'Nuff said.

3. Renee Zellweger

Renee Zellweger, $15 mil. What she should be earning: $5 mil. Renee doesn't open movies, unless the material is Bridget Jones-cloned. She's fine as the wife or girlfriend, but then her price needs to be cut by a third. Worse, audiences are getting sick of her changing hair color whenever she changes parts. That's a dye job, not an acting job. Sadly, she's lost her once winning girl-next-door quality; now she's trying to be a fashion diva. Ugh.

4. Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore, $15 mil. What she should be asking: $3 mil. Drew has never been able to open a movie, and she never will. That doesn't mean she isn't sweet onscreen, but lately her roles have been too saccharine. If only she'd bring back that Poison Ivy edginess she once had. Women like her but they don't want to be her (or even briefly married to Tom Green), whereas men don't think she's hot anymore. Drew's price should go up when she grows up.

5. Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz, $15 mil. What she should be asking: $7 mil. Put her in a bikini, and she's worth it. Put her in a chick flick (In Her Shoes, The Holiday), and she's not. Everyone finds her sexy, but women don't like her. (It's jealousy. And not just because of Justin.) Plus, she simply doesn't have much range as an actress from the neck up.

6. Halle Berry

Halle Berry, $14 mil. What she should be asking: $5 mil. Once she lost her shot at launching a new franchise as 007's Jinx, she lost what should have been her biggest paydays. Alas, she's now the wrong side of 40, and Hollywood is cruel that way.

7. Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron, $10 mil. What she should be asking: $10 mil. A smart actress, surrounded by smart people, doing smart roles. Just don't [filtered word] it up with too many vanity projects like North Country.

8. Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie, $10 mil. What she should be asking: $25 mil. There's no one hotter and cooler right now than Angelina onscreen and off (just ask the stalkarazzi), but that could change if she starts auditioning for sainthood by making too many message movies. Let's hope she's too bad-ass for that.

9. Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten Dunst, $8 mil-$10 mil. What she should be asking: $1 mil. Eventually, the Spider-Man franchise will end. Marie Antoinette dying in theaters didn't help her price. She was an idiot not to star in Bring It On sequels for big bucks. She's not sexy enough and she won't age well with audiences. This is a career about to end.

10. Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston, $8 mil. What she should be asking: $1 mil. She's not a movie star. She's a TV star. Big difference. Most of all, she's not an interesting actress. She can't open a movie, and her choice of material is abysmal. Sure, The Break-Up did okay business, but that was because of Vince and in spite of her. Soon she'll be lucky to score the next Lifetime .
